Building upon Marikiscrycrycry's decade-long practice of motorising otherwise fatalistic and marginal perspectives, Hang Time engages an emergent mode of creation that is at once genre-defying and spiritually itinerant.
Suspended between bouyon and soca, sƩance, ritual, social gathering, and catastrophe, the work transforms hanging into a social, historical, choreographic, and metaphysical condition. Through states of endurance, collapse, congregation, and reverberation, Hang Time listens to the gulf in order to sense what remains suspended in the air after disappearance.
