James Borland launches his debut album at Jazz at Map on September 28th. A prominent young musician in Birmingham's jazz scene, Borland showcases a warm tone and imaginative improvisations influenced by both jazz traditions and contemporary figures like Ambrose Akinmusire. His quartet features talented musicians, including bassist Ben Love, drummer Kai Chareunsy, and BBC Young Jazz Musician finalist Nick Manz on piano. They perform Borland's original compositions along with selections from jazz pioneers.
