About TownSpot
Find fun around the corner.
Hi there, I'm Mike. We're building TownSpot to help people connect with where they live or visit through well-designed hyperlocal calendars and automated local newsletters.
Back in 2019, I was living in Kentish Town and noticed something frustrating: brilliant local events, workshops, and community activities were happening all around, but neighbours had no idea they existed. Amazing local life was thriving and people were missing out.
My solution started with a simple weekly newsletter of local gigs, talks, and pop-ups. I soon realised this wasn't just about sharing events, it was about helping communities connect with where they live. That experiment became a platform that lets locals become community editors, curating hyperlocal calendars in their own areas and turning them into automated local newsletters.
Today, TownSpot helps:
- Residents discover amazing activities happening just around the corner
- Visitors quickly find what's on near where they are
- Local businesses and venues reach more neighbours
- Local admins run hyperlocal calendars in their own areas and earn money through sponsorships via personal coaching from our team
I believe local life should be visible, joyful, and genuinely human, not buried in Facebook groups where the good stuff gets lost amongst posts about bad parking and lost cats.
TownSpot is growing throughout the UK and beyond. We're proudly independent, fiercely hyperlocal, and expanding little by little.
