About
Lady Somerset Road Street Party is a welcoming, free event bringing together the whole community in a joyful day. The centrepiece is a shared lunch starting at 12pm occupying a portion of a closed, traffic-free street. Long tables decorated by the residents are laid out for everyone to eat delicious and varied homemade food prepared by residents or donated by local businesses. The Street Party offers a wonderful safe space for children to play all day. We organise a programme of free activities throughout the afternoon encouraging participation among our diverse communities, across all age groups. This focuses mainly on live music, including by local bands and a ceilidh, street games, kids' magic show, tea and cakes, local charity/community stalls and plants/clothes/jewellery rehoming stalls.
