We are running some poetry workshops!!
We say workshops loosely- it's more of a space to write, connect and share safely with a little bit of structure and some poetry pundits thrown in for good measure. The premise is simple- three evening workshops (one a week) and one performance night. Whether you write regularly or not at all, practise, not perfection, is the destination here. But practice can be a scary concept when we only value picture-perfect.
It can be easier when we practise with other people, when we share our stories. No one puts pen to paper for the first time and produces a masterpiece. In a world laser-focused on the final product, the importance of process can be forgotten. Life is all the parts in between.
For the performance evening/ sharing soiree, you can perform a piece or two to an audience and invite people you love to cheer you on. We'll be making a little book of the group's poetry to sell at the event, and all proceeds from the Zine will go to Charity.
