Step into the stories, people and places that have shaped Black history in the heart of London. This guided walk uncovers powerful and often overlooked histories between UCL and Tottenham Court Road, revealing connections to global movements, local communities and remarkable individuals. Along the way, you'll explore: Ancient African civilisations and their lasting influence on the world Inspiring Black women entrepreneurs The stories of Black women abolitionists The role of food, drink and romance in African and Caribbean cultural life Academia, race and debates around the "white curriculum" Black British civil rights activists Black heroes of the World War II Exact meeting point will be released to bookers 24 hours before the event. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT) - a 50+ times award winning charity committed to providing hope to patients living with blood cancer and illnesses where a matched donor (stem cell, blood or organ) is required to save a life.
