Open to all levels, this class explores the African American origins of jazz, from the Cakewalk and Charleston to the Lindy Hop, blending solo and partner work. You'll build rhythm, musicality, and improvisation while discovering how jazz has shaped styles like hip hop. Through movement, you'll connect with the cultural heartbeat of the form, exploring freedom, release, and joy. This class deepens the connection between body, mind, and soul while celebrating the legacy, resilience, and future of authentic jazz dance.
