Burgh House presents Sunday Sounds, a recital series showcasing emerging musicians.
This week features Trio Myrthen, a London-based piano trio formed in 2023 and named after Robert Schumann’s beloved song cycle. Comprising Guildhall School of Music and Drama students—violinist Cyrus Yuen, cellist Wilbert Chan, and pianist Myunghan Kim— the trio has performed at venues like Barbican Centre’s Milton Court and Bechstein Hall. Mentored by Krzysztof Smietana, Caroline Palmer, and Sam Armstrong, they have participated in masterclasses with notable musicians and recorded at the BBC’s Open Music. Recently, they were finalists in the 27th Luigi Nono International Chamber Music Competition and semifinalists in the Royal Over-Seas League Chamber Music Competition.
