Learn practical, life-saving skills with the Hunterian Museum at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
You will learn how to recognise severe bleeding and how to manage it using simple, effective techniques, including:
Using your hands to apply direct pressure to a wound
Packing a wound to control bleeding
Applying a tourniquet
This is a hands-on workshop, giving you the chance to practise these skills and build confidence in responding to a real emergency.
Reducing blood loss is a vital part of surgery. Visit the Hunterian Museum before your Stop the Bleed training and find out about surgical practice from ancient times to the present day. This will help you connect the life-saving skills you will learn with their historical development.
